Just returned from a trip up over the Cascades to a small alpine lake called Alta Lake.
It was still pretty chilly, even had some snow fall on the pass after we made it over.
Most folks reported slow trout fishing, however wife and I had a blast, catching all we needed, and big ones too.
My biggest was 20 inches long and about 3 pounds I would guess.
Truck pulled great, no issues, averaged 10 MPG.
Leaving in a little over a week and going to the coast this trip.
Some pictures, get out there and enjoy this great country, before they take it away from us (or die trying)
Didn't weigh any of them.....
My wife's biggest was 15 inches long, mine was 20 inches......
I believe they were stockers from maybe last year, or?
The meat was orange like the wild coho I catch here in Puget Sound.
I love the area north of Chelan. My grandfather use to park his trailer at Conconully every spring, doing basically nothing but trout fishing and gathering wild asparagus for a few months.
