Correct rear driveshaft

I've found an 84 f250 I'm interested in, but the rear drive shaft is missing. Truck is a single cab long bed, 4x4 straight six with 4spd manual. Axle code is 26 so the Ford rear, not Dana I think. From what I could see, it's supposed to be 53 9/32" long, but the part number for that axle gives no results. E4TZ 4602-D. What are my best options? Also, what rear end does it actually have?

IS it a 2 pc or 1 pc drive shaft?
Is the slip yoke at the transfer case or the drive shaft?
Being a 4x4 thinking the slip is in the drive shaft?
When you measured was the truck sitting on all 4 wheels on the ground?

If cant find one in a local junk yard find a local shop that can make one but you will need the info I asked above.
Only thing I did not say was the Ujoint sizes.
You will also need to measure across the yokes that are on the truck and the cup dia.

I know you hate to get a shaft made and it is not your truck but you were going to buy a junk yard one no?
What if it is bent from the fork lift moving the truck around the yard?
I had a little dent in a shaft I needed made shorter and the shop would not use it because if it and I fully understood because of balancing.

Here are all the possible combinations of driveshafts for a 1984 f250. I believe a 8ft is 133" wheelbase but you could check that with a measuring tape. And of course you have 4x4. Your 4 speed will be the T-18.

133" WB, AT, 4x2, 2 piece, front section
155" WB, MT, 4x2, front section, New Process manufactured transmission

You can see you have to select whether you have a flange connection to the transfer case or a slip yoke connection. I picked a 33" WB, AT, 4x4, slip yoke, Ford manufactured axle and got about 25 hits around the country. What state do you live?

I then picked 133" WB, MT, 4x4, flange joint, Ford manufactured axle and got about the same amount of hits around the country.

Wow, thanks for all the info! Unfortunately (and fortunately) after getting time to look at the truck, none of that applies, as it'd been upgraded to full float dana 60 some time in the past. Bought it, and if the truck doesn't work out, I can sell the offenhauser intake on it for what the truck cost. The diff will likely need to be fully rebuilt however, and that's out of my skill range and budget. so my next question is what other year rear ends fit as a direct swap?

I would get a Ford/Sterling full float rearend if I needed a truck to haul heavy loads. If you just need it for regular truck duties, you could get a lighter duty f250 semi-float rearend. They all fit from the f250/350 up to 1998. You just have to make sure you get the correct ratio. There was really only two common ratios for the 4x4 trucks, a 3.55 and a 4.10.
