Is your hydra chip properly seated in the PCM slot opening, and all the traces are clean and making contact?
Remember to always have the key out of the ignition when fiddling with the Hydra chip connection. Or better yet, disconnect the battery too.
I cleaned the silicone from the contacts and valleys with the wood handle. Certainly worth another look. But would it have shut the truck down in NS if there wasn't good connectivity?
I don't think you will see much of a Difference between 100hp and 80hp...
been a couple years ago, but I remember testing the different settings, and it would hit 80 mph pretty quick.
my Edge CTS-3 has a monitor setting that I ought try out,
it will Log and let you save to an SDcard, the results of speed tests like that.
but, a SWAG, is that from 10-15 mph to 80 happens pretty fast with the 80hp tune.
No where around my home where I can try that w/o attracting unwanted attention.
Wish I had seen your post this morning, I went to town and back, and there are several straight line places on the US-hwy where I could have tried that out....
I know it will hit 100mph if I don't get off the throttle.
Thanks. I tried 80 and 100 only for the sake of sample size. No difference from stock for sure.
I'm fortunate to have an industrial park with a straight away nearby 😁
Something to also keep in mind: Tunes take time to settle in. It takes 1-2 tanks of fuel for the PCM to adjust the fueling tables and shift strategy for the power. You'd need to run the 80HP tune for 2 tanks of fuel before anything.
I know you said you cleaned the contacts with the wood handle,
but you did not use the Scotch Brite??
those contacts need to be squeaky clean, w/o taking off any of the gold contact layer.
and, seal it up with Duct Tape, and the Zip tie they included....
you do NOT want that Chipset to slide off of the PCM while driving, you will say goodbye to a good PCM if that happens.

Yes. Wood handle, brass brush then scotch Brite. And it's taped in place.
I'll definitely pull it tomorrow and recheck the contacts, etc.

ummmmm,
mine did not.
well,
that might be,
my Hydra has been on the truck 2 years now.
but I noted the improved shifting immediately when I tried it.

If you're confident they're clean, then probably best to leave alone, rather than disturb again.
And you're sure you downloaded the standard canned tunes that are NOT for a modified valve body transmission?
So, as I said I had used the wood handle, wire brush and scotchbrite pad.
After comments above, I decided to pull it again and clean with alcohol, SB pad then alcohol again. You couldn't feel or see any silicone but that did the trick!

it took effect instantly.
The shifting is almost instantaneous however, the fueling takes time to settle in. It takes longer on the 6.0 trucks but there's a relearn that can speed things up.

Thing runs like a scalded dog now. Thanks all!
I had the same issue. I though I had it all cleaned up properly but I guess not. I pulled it again and did a more detailed cleaning with the brass brush and scotch pad and.......Yes, I can now tell the difference. Very nice and what I was looking for with it.
