Performance
I just purchased 2001 250 7.3 with 173,000 on 2nd transmission. Has the t6 performance chip.
Going from 3-4 gear automatic the truck seems like it’s doing a double clutch and shutters sometimes.
doesn’t do it often. Does it when slowing down also occasionally
I keep it on stock selection.
Does this seem like a transmission issue, selenoid valve, throttle sensor or what.
no codes, no engine light
took it to transmission shop for them to read the transmission and was not able to due to the chip installed.
Has anyone had similar issues

chips are designed to change how the transmission works, remove the chip and drive it, see if it goes away
had to do that with my hydra , oddish shifting made me think the transmission was going out, took it out and works fine
May invest in some jeli tunes someday

Congrat's on your new truck and welcome to FTE!
Removing the chip should be your first order of business when trying to diagnose most issues with these trucks...in this case it may very well solve the problem, the stock tuning on TS chips is not generally well regarded especially in the area's of transmission programming.

I was thinking i should have said that even in stock setting, it will still be not be "stock" removing it is the only way to diagnose what's going on

I had a similar issue some time ago with a different chip. Didn't seem to be there when the chip was unplugged but....seems the chip can "magnify" an issue you didn't know you had...In my case, carrier bearing. Seriously needed to be replaced. Once it was, the shudder was gone without and with the chip plugged in.
