Many, many years ago I used it (like Windows 98 probably version 1 of desktop dyno). The machinist my buddy used to rebuild his 390 at that time let us play around with the software. I am sure it has improved quite a lot over the years.

Problem is it only works on Windows as far as I know and I run Linux OS on all my machines in the house. I could probably make it work with a couple different solutions Linux offers to run windows apps, but haven't looked into it very much.

Hit my limit of questions again. Providing a lot more detail helps.

🔴 446ci (Your Build)

  • Peak Torque: ~440 ft-lbs @ 3000 RPM
  • Peak HP: ~375 HP @ 4500 RPM
  • Strongest low-end performance and maintains torque longer due to roller cam and long stroke.

🟢 410ci Stroker

  • Peak Torque: ~380 ft-lbs @ 3250 RPM
  • Peak HP: ~340 HP @ 4500 RPM
  • Excellent midrange grunt, crisp throttle response, and good match for mixed-use driving.

🔵 351M (Stock w/ bolt-ons)

  • Peak Torque: ~250 ft-lbs @ 2750 RPM
  • Peak HP: ~215 HP @ 4000 RPM
  • Noticeably flatter curve—limited by low compression and stock cam.

@KubotaOrange76 I asked it about crank vs wheel HP when it gives estimated dyno readings, and was told it is estimated at crank numbers being provided.

Decided to re-run the numbers with a bigger cam and compare between rebuilt factory 2v heads and a set of trick-flow 195 heads with 72cc chambers. Tried to add a third comparison which would be my current build but hit my limit once again for creating the charts, was able to get some numbers though.

Managed to get all the threads chased, new threads cut for heater hose connection on the block as well as 3 coats each of primer and Ford blue. I'll let the paint cure overnight and start short block assembly tomorrow. Put together an engine build thread in the 335 series sub-forum which is where I will post most the detail for this part of the project.

I got the crank installed and piston rings file fit and installed on the pistons. Plan for tomorrow is to get the pistons in their respective holes and camshaft installed. Intend to install the cam straight up, but have toyed with the idea of adding a couple degrees advance. Would like to confirm what I am working with for compression ratio before I make any adjustments there. If I am not mistaken advancing the cam increases dynamic compression ratio and I am already border line with estimated static compression and using a smaller cam. I am higher in elevation though so I might have a little flexibility there.
