Is there a way to disable the power down/any power at all to the tailgate? I tow multiple different trailers per day and with the majority of them it will drop the camera or gate on the trailer at some point. I also need to pick up multiple Chocks and blocks everytime so I end up fighting for my life with the tailgate trying to hold it half way open while I throw the stuff into my box.
I've already set it to manual but that only effects the up portion of the power tailgate.
While that is a good idea, it will still engage the safety feature of the remote gate. It will still start closing itself again causing me to fight to get stuff into the box
So I think I broke the code on this based on fiddling with my 2024 F350 King Ranch.
With the tailgate set to Manual in the Settings|Vehicle|Tailgate screen, I have observed the following behavior:
If you press the latch button and take your hand off the tailgate, It powers down and will beep and reverse when it encounters an obstacle (like the jack head)
However if you momentarily press the latch button to unlock the tailgate, keep your hand on the tailgate and stop it from moving more than an inch or so (just enough to clear the latch), it disengages the motor and you can lower it to any position without the automatic reverse thing happening.
As previously noted, raising the tailgate is completely manual
It is odd and counterintuitive behavior - you would think manual would mean manual.

I need to verify it tomorrow, but I think the same behavior on lowering the tailgate works regardless of whether the mode is auto or manual ! Ford really got this screwed up
