In my Cayenne, my wife's key in her purse would activate 'Auxillary' mode after I powered the car off and she stayed in the car or got out after me. This prevented me from locking the car until I went back in and exited 'Auxillary' mode. A helpful forum member let me know that pressing Lock and UnLock at the same time stopped the key from transmitting until a single key was pressed again. It fixed the issue.
The reason for the intro- every time my wife walks into the garage with her purse, my truck activates due to proximity and uses electricity. This could have an impact if when the truck is parked the large lithium battery is mostly discharged and cannot provide support to the starter battery when needed. Basically, I would like to stop even this drain on the batteries by deactivating her key.
Does anyone know of a way to disable a Ford key?
Thanks, but probably more drastic than I am looking for. Pressing 2 buttons is pretty simple, I just don't want to start random attempts with my Ford key.
2 thoughts, don't know what trim you have but mine doesn't react when I get near it so that may be something you can turn off in settings. If you like/want your truck to "wake up" when you get near it then get her a Faraday pouch to slip her fob in while it's in the purse unneeded. I use one to lock my fob in the truck occasionally. Jim

Thanks, I do see a small Faraday pouch on Amazon for $10.
