Goodbye FTE - I'm back!

This will be my last post on FTE. I have returned. Actions have been taken to correct the situation.

One of the moderators on this platform made a post (since removed by a different moderator) that was so offensive that I can no longer support this forum. If they had done something to correct the offender I would not have been driven to this decision, but they allow this person to continue to post, though not to the same degree.

If that person remains in good standing here, I cannot remain. I will still be active on other similar sites, if you want my help look me up at those sites.

Goodbye.

Id like to hear the back story.

I always enjoyed your to the point input, Mark. Sad day, indeed.
Edit: Where is Admom on this?

I'm right behind you for similar reasons. Just waiting to see if it's rectified.

Sad to see another go because of the few offenders that go unchecked. I only check this section every so often to see if the problem has been corrected, and so far it hasn't. Too many good standing members gone because of one or two allowed to run wild with stupidity.

Losing Mark is a troubling thought if only because it highlights this entire site is loosing steam and perhaps its way overall. Having been a member since 2010 you've been a valuable resource as well as internet camaraderie too.

Mark if you're still hear I'd ask in a completely selfish manner to stay, so many benefit from your participation and it would be a crying shame not having your advice and input on many things not just transmission. If the situation causing your difficulty isn't resolved you being a man of principle I would understand but sad none the less.

I do relate to those who've mentioned one or two exceptionally annoying members who are allowed to heap their BS gibberish here without action taken to give contributing members complaints more weight, even today its apparent that continual annoyance suffers no consequence from being nothing more than pest. It gives me pause when thinking "why do I still remain a member of FTE??"

Speaking for many Mark K PLEASE STAY if its possible!!!!

We are all adults....well, most of us.

What was said? What was the "remedy"?

Of course, I don't expect an answer for reasons that probably make no sense, but it would be best to be transparent about what was said so that:

A) We can agree with the forum operators and wish that Mark would stay, but understand that leaving over anything is his choice

or

B) We can agree with Mark and drive some changes in order to keep our long time homies who have made immeasurable, invaluable contributions to this forum.

To be clear; I'm absolutely against censorship and refuse to participate in any virtue signaling fake-offended child brained nonsense, so that's not the change that would result if B were appropriate to apply to the circumstances surrounding this situation (obviously, a line is to be drawn somewhere).

Just pretending that this didn't happen is what is going to drive people like me away.....

While FTE Site Guideline #9 serves as a reminder that moderator and administrator actions are not open for public discussion, you can rest assured that staff is not "Just pretending that this didn't happen."

Wow, maybe its time to take away that members ability to moderate. just a thought. @Mark Kovalsky Mark is entirely too helpful for the slush box crowd to have him leave over a mods bad behaviour... people come to the forums for the help (and friendships) not because of the mods. just my two cents.

Hey y2k, thanks for your assurance. It's guidelines like fte #9 that had me worried that "pretending nothing happened" could be a result of whatever happened here. I speak for many when I say I look forward to the explanation.

the simple answer to this is if you do not want to see what someone is posting, use the ignore feature.... it works great. i see nothing of what they post unless it is quoted by someone else.
as for banning someone because you dont agree with what they post, it dont work. as long as that person does not break the site guidelines, they can post pretty much anything they want, no matter how word salad idiotic the post reads

I would expect a "moderator" to be a moderator, not an instigator.
Maybe just be a regular old poster if you can't moderate.

the issue they are talking about has nothing to do with moderators.
it is about a user who makes way too many posts that make no sense.
