No power

I have no power at all, nothing works besides the light when I open the door. But as soon as I connect my battery the starter starts cranking without the key out I have a 1986 ford f-150. It has a brand new starter solenoid, new ignition switch, I don’t know what could be wrong fresh battery too

The starter relay(solenoid) is stuck. Beat on it lightly with a hammer and see if you can unstick it. A new one may be the solution, though the new ones tend to stick too.

Welcome to the forum.

Can you please provide a little recent history? What symptoms led you to replace all those parts? Any improvement? Or just the near total lack of electrical power you presently have? This is a new symptom, right?

One likely issue is your new starter relay (aka solenoid) is bad from stock and is not releasing. This is a VERY well-known problem with most aftermarket brands out there today. More info here:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...i-mean-it.html

Is the sticking starter relay a new fault? Or was the old one doing that, too? Did the new starter relay work properly at all, or did it act up the very first time?

As far as all the dead electrical circuits: One of the big studs on the starter relay, the one connected directly to the battery’s (+) post, is used as a convenient distribution point for smaller wires running to nearly every circuit on the truck. On the other big stud on the starter relay, you should only have the one fat cable running to the starter. We’ve had several instances of guys inadvertently connecting those multiple smaller wires on the wrong stud, which pretty much kills everything.

If it is the ign switch he could remove the wire from the S stud on the solenoid and if it did not crank when the battery was hooked back up then bad or out of adjustment ign switch.
If it keeps cranking then bad solenoid and you need to buy top of the line one not a cheap one.

No, that's the battery ground at the frame, it goes onto the engine block. In this picture. It's down by the oil pan near the crank pulley

Sorry, I don't understand "the line holders first and then the ground"

Can you post a photo ?

Yes the battery ground cable and battery cables should look like mine. Notice the felt pads under the terminals at the battery, those are $.99 Tractor Supply and Walmart have them as well as auto parts stores.

Those extra black wires and the white wire are for my trailer brake controller. (at the Battery post.)

Here's the ground cable I got from NAPA. I did have to open up the bolts holes, but it works fine.

mine is backwards could that be the reason it’s no power bad main ground? On mine the ground wire is infront of that bracket

Then let's focus on the other thread. Dave or Karl can walk you through the process.

I would usually combine the threads but that's going to make it worse.

I thought I posted something then see I did not and then it is a second post on the same thing
What is the voltage of the battery?
Lets see a picture of the battery & cables and one of the solenoid as there has to be something easy you are missing.
