Balance shaft timing
Installed new head on driver side 2004 v10 trying to figure out how to inststall balance shaft .there are marks on front of shaft and on cam gear but also on back of cam gear wich marks ate used

I just did this procedure.
you have to bring the driver side cam to just before top dead center of the head , using the mark on the sprocket.
mark the teeth with white paint pen .
balance shaft marks on the back side, also have a line , aswell as the dot.
mark the line and dot with the same paint pen .
the gears are helical , so the gears roll together , start a tooth to the right of center , and roll the shaft into place .
sounds difficult , and I did over think the process , but it went together fine .
