Can you tell us more about your vehicle, like the calibration on the door jamb , send a picture of it, send a picture of your Label saying when your truck was made and what engine/trans/axle etc you have in your door jamb too. Then tell us the Year make model engine/trans from your own experience, and telling us if its California or Federal emissions. you can find this on your VECI underhood, I believe its on the core support or similar on non 1996+ trucks but It could be on the hood by the driver(Like mine) if Im wrong

To be clear you have a code reading method of using the underhood connector, right? Not a dash one by the glovebox visible from the driver seat?
To my understanding a 97 f350 would have a EEC-V pcm but with dumbed down EEC-IV program loaded, Can you send a picture of your PCM connector on the firewall?
ML1-441 are for automatic transmissions, and if you can find the part number on your PCM this would help a lot more. I think you have a EEC-V with a EEC-IV program, which means you can FLASH the PCM instead of having to buy it already that way, and any ford Dealer should* be able to do that for you. But do get back with a pic of the PCM if you can

A ford dealer parts department should be able to tell you which processor you need even though they are obsolete
Agreed, get the numbers off your old one if your calibration is not listed
Post what you are driving (like a 97 F350 with a 460) in the original post
Can you take a picture of the EEC and show us?
Also, on your driver side door/windshield pillar post, open the door and see if there is a 4 digit code sticker there, take a picture of that too, please.
This site works better for newer vehicles, hit and miss for older ones, and it is Fords service: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt
Put in the VIN,and it spits out the catch code/strategy in the Tear Tag field.
I just found it yesterday.
