Fuel Delivery Help!
Just had a problem out of the blue pop up. Truck won't start like it normally has. It's like I have to cycle the key 10-15 times to "prime" or "pressurize" the system. When it does start, there is almost no power.
Pressure regulator? Relay? Fuel Pump? I can hear it kick on and it sounds like it always has. Beyond that I am clueless.
I inherited this truck from my grandfather about 6 months ago and just started messing around with it. Haven't owned anything this old so my knowledge is lacking for sure.
Thanks in advance for any insight or advice!

X2 what he said.
On the fuel rail there should be a port, may have a cap on it, that has a valve that looks like a tire valve.
You can rent the EFI fuel PSI gauge from the parts stores or buy one at HF with the adapters so you have it in your tool box.
When you turn on the key the pump should run for a few seconds to prime the system. It should hold the PSI after the pump stops.
There is also a fuel psi regulator that has a vacuum line going to it. Remove the hose and check if it is wet, it should not be wet.
Also when running and you remove the hose the PSI should go up.
Sorry to say I am not really up on the EFI systems so I dont know when the PSI spec should be.
