Flathead Head Bolts
I am looking for a source for a set of head bolts for a 1953 8BA flathead. Carpenter used to carry them but they are no longer in their online catalog. Any suggestions? Also, the Ford manual says to "Coat the threads of each bolt with a light coating of waterproof sealer". Will Permatex do the job or is there a specific product that performs better? TIA

You will want a non-hardening sealant such as Permatex number 2, Permatex aviation form a gasket sealant, Gasoila Soft-Set Thread Sealant or similar. Some claim to have just used copper antiseize, but it really isn't a sealant.

Thanks for the generous offer. So far I have been able to get all of the left side head bolts out without twisting any off, and they seem in decent shape. I'm in the process of cleaning them up. But I will keep your offer in mind in case the right side doesn't go as well.
