Like many other parts on our trucks, they're worth their weight in gold. I second what John suggested, FleaBay or wrecking yard. I was lucky to get one of the last ones that were available on Jamazon. These wrecking yards are discovering how rare Excursion parts are and charging accordingly so they have been inflating the prices. I would like to find a real cherry driver's door panel with the burl wood trim. Everything I've found is crap. Moral of the story, if you think you're gonna need it and see it, BUY IT!!! lol
You can also look for other models that have the switch. I bought one either for a Mustang or Ranger...can't remember...and the only difference was it has a slight clock to it downward. Hard to explain, but it's also nothing really noticeable...
make sure to match year groups to your truck for function. Especially if you have 02+ rig. 99-01 Superduty/Excursion has a different switch from 02-07 Super/X rigs. The light functions exactly the same. Just the 99-01 rigs don't have the automatic light aspect. So if you have a 02+ rig, you'll lose that using earlier version switch. It will work perfectly fine using a 02+ on a 99-01 rig
most 1996 to mid 2000's Ford used the same switch. makes it slightly easier to source parts once you start looking at the expanded models

agree. I have one from a Grand Marquis/Police Interceptor out in the garage somewhere. it's identical to the Excursion switch for function and same part number
