CEL not coming on

Hello, 94 f150 5.0 something I think is wrong with my check engine light it comes on when I turn the key on but when I pull the vacuum to my EGR it doesn't come on and I got problems with my truck it runs good when idling but when driving if I step on gas to hard it will big down and die and takes several rotations to crack back up. Also as I've read when you pull vacuum to EGR the CEL is supposed to come on. I've pulled code with an OBD 1 code reader it just shows 111. I know I need fuel pumps I did pressure test and they are below specs but I'm concerned about my CEL light. Any help greatly appreciated

Repair your fuel pump issue then move on with life. Your "vacuum" test is not valid IMHO.

Have you changed your filter?

Poured it out from the input side in a glass container to see if it's full of rust ?

The EGR code is only going to be set while the engine is driving the truck steady & under load.

Never in park idling even if you put vacuum on the diaphragm.

I pulled 3 cups of rust out of this 94's tank after emptying the gas & letting it dry.

Are you doing that with the engine off or running? If the engine is running does the engine bog down or stall?

I agree that you appear to looking for a problem that isn’t there.

EGR is closed at idle so pulling the vacuum line won't make any difference to the way the engine is running and won't set a code because the computer isn't commanding the EGR to open.
