Not sure when as its been more than 10 years since ive had a Ram but here are two shots from the internet. The older mirrors you had to litterally fold up and out for the lenses be in the same orientation as the default position of the Ford mirror. New ones are set up like the Ford and sit about the same distance from the cab as the Ford ones when they are collapsed.

We have a 2023 Ram 6.4 exactly in your picture and the mirrors are actually functionally pretty good and they look good. I'm not a fan of Fords current mirrors with the chamfer cut on the top corners.

I’ll take the Ford mirrors over the ram mirrors any day of the week
i I have used both and you’re upset about a small angled corner…but you’re okay with a huge dead spot in the exact spot I really want to have the mirror in the outside corner? Lmao

I'm not upset about it, just sharing my opinion. After years of hideous looking mirrors, I think Ram finally got it right.

A camera fits in that outside corner, and shows an image on the center stack screen when the turn signal is on.
And, if properly adjusted, the spot mirror present is probably about as good as the one on a Ford mirror.
They are a vast improvement over the previous RAM mirror.

Uh oh...where's ATC? Here come the mirror police. How could you possibly use a camera to assist in navigating a truck & trailer... God forbid. But, it makes good use of that spot IMO.
I still like the Ford mirrors better, even though Ram's are improved. I have mine set and there are literally no blind spots. They're good mirrors for a good truck - inspiring confidence when towing or moving at speed.
