Hey y’all! I’ve got a 97 7.3 5spd that stalled on me yesterday when taking off from a stop sign after cruising on the highway about 30 minutes. Truck stalled and would crank but no start. Truck currently has efuel and I have an edge cts3 monitor and was reading pressure at the regulator. The HPOP is 6 years old but a T500, ICP 4 months old from ford.
after getting it towed home and coming back to it a few hours later it started up once it cooled down and I was able to start and stop it while running FORScan about 6-10 times (engine up to temp) and then it wouldn’t start again so I left it.
I came back this morning to it and Truck started right up today so it has to be a hot crank issue I’m thinking. Pulled the IPR and Orings looked good but swapped in another I had. On cranking the highest Ipr reading is 54.96% and 801.7 Icp. Once idling Ipr is staying at 12-14% and Icp reading from 565-667 psi. I’m letting it run now to see what changes. I’m also getting white smoke from tailpipe and no obvious oil leaks.
im new to forscan so any help with that or what to look for would be greatly appreciated!
im also running a hydra tuner with 1023 tunes but am testing everything and running forscan on stock setting
I swapped out the IPR with another one I have after this happened and am waiting for a new one from ford that gets in Tuesday. The Ipr I pulled however the Orings looked good. I just pulled the valve covers and all 8 injectors are returning oil through the spouts evenly and no apparent leak on the injectors up top. Injector orings were replaced with motorcraft a year and a half ago when I put the engine in.
