Been having all kinds of little issues.
All the things I’m listing only happened once or twice.
Done lights didn’t go out for 12 hours.
Wrench light comes on sometimes.
Check engine light is on.
A couple times it just clicked when trying to start it but did start.
Clock keeps switching to 24 hour clock.
So today after a long fast drive to work I could smell something. Took me awhile to figure it out but was battery smell.
Opened the hood and one battery was smoking and drinking like it was boiling .
Unhooked them , but not sure what I should do I can’t get it in the shop for 2 weeks.
Wonder if the battery’s are the problem or if there’s something else that now has affected the battery’s?
Dont want to spend $500 on new battery’s just to wreck them.
$500 for a pair of batteries???
Think mine were about $300.
Also, what shop can you not get into for two weeks, dealer?
Take it to an independent shop.
And, yes, could be a charging system issue, overcharging maybe, needs to be tested.
Also, need to get the check engine and wrench lights checked, that wrench light could indicate a real problem in the TCM or trans.
Both batteries were boiling I think I’ll try 2 new ones
Thats what I would do. Two new batteries, a good under hood flush, and a charging system test to make sure that the charging system isn’t baking the batteries. Then I would deal with any codes.
Batteries for sure. First thing to check. Make sure to disconnect both for testing, they are connected together.
mine just had a bunch of odd engine codes and such. One battery was bad I changed both and good as new

Off-hand does anyone know the battery warranty? I have a ‘22 F250/PowerStroke. Built July 2022, finally delivered Feb ‘23. One of the batteries has started causing corrosion on the terminals and hold-down bracket.

I believe they are covered under the 3/36 warranty.

That should be covered by the 3/36 as mentioned. I had both batteries and the hold down on one replaced under warranty.

2022 should still be under warranty. Have Ford them replace with AGMs

I tried that, it didn't work. Even after I offered to pay the difference the dealer would not install AGMs. They told me I had to have OEM (wet cell) for my model if I wanted it done under warranty.
