I have a 1994 F-350 7.3 4x4, and am hearing a squeal when the clutch is engaged (normal position - foot off). As soon as I put any pressure ( even the slightest pressure - not enough to really disengage the clutch) on the clutch pedal, the noise stops. The squeal dosen't seen to vary in pitch when the engine rpm changes. Does anyone have any idea about this type of problem?
Is it going to hurt anything driving it like this? I have to have the transmission gone through to have the syncros redone, but really don't want to lay out the money for that yet.. I am double clutching now to try to put off the syncros..
Well, if I don't double clutch between 2-3 and 3-4th, the gears grind, unless I let the engine run down below 1000 rpm. 1-2nd shifts are o.k., as well as 4th-5th..
