Swoosh Sound

I own a 99 PSD with an auto trans. During hard acceleration the turbo makes a loud swoosh sound as the tranny shifts gears. Is this normal for auto equipped trucks? I thought it was maybe just the difference in air speed as the turbo spools up and then encounters lower air speed when the truck shifts. Am I right? There is no loss in power by the way, the truck really hauls butt. Thanks for the help.

I hear the the same noise also. I have always felt the sound was caused by the wastegate relieving pressure as the rpms suddenly dropped between shifts. I seem to hear it loudest when it shifts into overdrive.
