Check the rubber boots on the tube coming off the turbo, mine split right behind it and made a loud sound same as you describe, it didn't feel like it was down on power or anything either. Does yours feel sluggish?

As I stated truck is new to me been doing this from first day I bought it. I not sure if it feels sluggish my last truck was a Isuzu box truck with a 175hp diesel engine so I'm use to sluggish.
I will check all the rubber boots as for the turbo or sensor would it be only whn its under a load if I just drive around on flat roads it makes no noise it only seems to do it when I am going up a hill and I need to get on the pedal
