I have three bags packed, and ready, as do my companions. It would take me about 5 minutes to ready, armed and out. I can leave an unusual way, and not even be seen from the road I live on.

My bags are, Survival Bag, as issued to the British SAS, with accompanying manual.

Weapons and comms bag, with FAL, spares, and ammo, radios, batteries, and nightsight equip.

Medical Bag, as issued to NATO Paramedics, and Field Surgeons.

Sarah is in charge of clothing, and the food is all ready on board.

I'd rather build a hard site.

The land is questionable

That would be nice, except for the distance. Should the need arise, the roads get closed by the govt. Most annoying, so I hope I get a day or two, to get to the places the govt. don't know about.

Maybe we could built a retreat for FTE folks. There is strength in numbers. Some would provide entertainment.

amen to that christop43.
I lived in Anchorage for 8 years and then decided to move out to Willow(hence the name willowbilly). I basically lived like you all are talking about except with neighbors and electricity. That was the happiest and best years of my life. Then I got married and it all ended. Now I spend my days scheming on how to get back pemanantly. I have no desire to be a hermit or recluse, and besides you pretty much can't just decide to live on some land without legal fomalitys, like owning or leasing it.
And Theo, you gonna shoot people that encroach on land that they have just as much right to as you? You may be able to justify protecting your own home with enough weaponry to hold off a small army, but if you try it out on state or federal land it will be another Ruby Ridge for sure, or Waco. You might as well take your stand on youe own land because if it comes to heading for the hills thats where every one else will be too. It won't be all pristine and private like it looks now. Think about it.
My dad lived with that mentality and from the early 60s as a small boy I just expected our whole economy and social system to collapse any day and all the city folk would be out at our doorstep because we had food. Never happened. And while this old country boy can survive I think its pathetic to live in such paranoia that you are packed and at the ready because if you really are right, you can't run, and there will be no place to hide.

Willowbilly, where in this post did you get the idea that I would go onto government land, and shoot people.

I just gathered from your comments about your armament in another thread and your readiness to use them protecting your turf. You're not taking all the weapons just to hunt rabbits are you? The talk about government land was more of a generality. So you will be doing this on private land? Yours? That still won't save you. They are out to get you and they will find you.

no offense WillowBilly3, i dont see where Theo might be out to pick off people on the property. also, it just seems to me that he set up the properties, just to see if its been touched, if not then he knows where to hide out. i personally would like to know if people were on my property or not.

i dont totally consider myself paranoid, but i too keep my duffel bags loaded and have a few clips for the rifles ready to go, ammunition in a convenient place. i dont see anything wrong with having my bags packed... there isnt enough room in my dresser droors for it anyways!!

as for his amount of firepower, id do the same thing. he has a FAL rifle right? thats usually .308 caliber. great for taking down mid-size game with even a single shot. i personally would have my AR15, and my 12 guage. that way i could hunt mid-large game, and trap small game. id also have a few thousand rounds of ammo with me, cause your going to need enough to last a while!

I guess it just amazes me that people think this way. Or at least think it has enough probablity to require preperation and packing. An AR-15 for hunting? Well I guess they are durable.
I guess I just resist the idea because I had to grow up with a bunker and hoarding mentality, between my fathers beliefs and the cold war. In hindsight it seems like it was largely delusional.
I find it especially troubleing from a man who claims to trust God. God will either protect you or take you home and to be honest I'd like to get the whole thing wrapped up and go to the house, myself.
