Error Codes 7E8 and 7E9 A/T

Error Codes 7E8 and 7E9 A/T
I have a 2012 F550 SD Powerstroke 6.7L, automatic, with about 75000 miles. It threw a code for a problem in the DEF system, so we replaced the complete DEF tank assembly with a supposed good used assembly. Test drove the truck for 20 miles and that code did not return. I then replaced one battery that was bad. Check engine light came back and now I get error codes 7E8 and 7E9 A/T. Any thoughts to a simple fix?

Not sure what scanner you’re using but those aren’t codes, they are module ID’s 7E8 is the PCM, 7E9 I believe is the TCM. Could these be menu items in your scanner that could have codes in them?

Yes, I called them codes for lack of a better term. I want to know if and how I can get rid of them. I have a cheapy scanner, so I may have to find a good one and try to erase them.

You need a better scan tool to READ the codes first. Record them. Do not simply erase them.
