I picked up a radiator for our 84 6.9 IDI. However this new one is the square one, as opposed to the long rectangle. Here's my question, what will I need to change to make it fit? I made sure to take both mounting brackets on in as well.
New radiator came out of an 83 6.9 2wd (with AC, our truck doesn't have AC, 4x4)
I'm not a bull-nose specialist, but you should only need the radiator support sheet metal. Everything else should be identical.
Ah, if I can get away with some modding of the one I have, I will, but new core is probably my best option, if I had more time, i'd have taken it off the truck I took the rad off. Oh well. Still cheaper than $700 bucks for a rectangular rad.
This is a dump runner truck, I felt bad taking apart the parts one, (apparently fuel issue) as it was is such good shape, interior and all. (Damn desert trucks) The VRV even had the Ford parts sticker still!!!
