Knock sensor woes….

I had to pull the heads off my 1995 5.0. I managed to knock the top off my knock sensor. Apparently this thing is cast from unobtainium? Has anyone had luck finding a quality replacement?

The junkyard should have a few, and they seldom go south, so they should all be good if you find one
I am going to our yard this morning looking for a brake line connector from a long wheelbase Ford truck
Tons of trucks down there, maybe a few 5,0s does the 5.8 have the same knock sensor? same place?

I don't think the 351w used a knock sensor.

5.8L does not use a knock sensor.

I will do some junk yard checking if all else fails. I sure did not think it would be this crazy to find a replacement!

What if you simply replace it with a threaded plug? Does that mess with the efi?

I think the issue would be that the ECU would not back off the timing if you have spark knock. Honestly, it probably would not cause an issue to run without one, I probably just have to make sure I keep the timing tame!
