I am looking at a 2000 F350 7.3l ZF6 and noticed this diamond plate on the left front frame which sent up red flags. The truck has a lift and it seems like they have air helper springs up front. They also have bags in the rear. Any ideas if this is a common place to reinforce due to the modification or is the frame cracked and they slapped this patch on? I have not contacted the seller to ask just yet as I wanted to hear what logical reasons may exist beforehand. Also, I cannot tell if this was replicated on the passenger side ans well. Any thoughts on this are appreciated.
It's kinda hard to tell for sure what's going on there. Is it just on the driver's side or both? How is it attached to the frame? Bolted, welded, Gorilla Glue, Hubba Bubba, other? There's actually a factory frame splice a foot or so back from there. If that's actually a repair of some kind it looks stronger than the factory job so I probably wouldn't be all the worried, provided it's straight.
I appreciate the feedback so far. My initial thought was that it was a homemade backet for the front bags as well. I will try to get more pics/info. I have never really seen bags on the front end before

the big question, (only question) is the other side the same or similar? once again a home made bracket for the airbags is not big deal...if its only on one side, I would be concerned also look for cracks, if lifted airbagged and PO was hauling dirty all the time it might have been to fish over some cracks. thats not cool either
I have bags on the front of my truck, snow plow in winter. Mine are Airlift brand , single bellows and they mount farther back than those, I like that location better than mine.

So I got another not great pic of it and those brackets are on both sides and appear to coincide with the front air bags. It does have a pretty heavy duty bumper on the front.
To those who have these air bags installed on their trucks, how does it affect the ride quality?
As far as ride quality I usually keep the front bags at 30 PSI without the plow and little higher with it, not that noticeable as far as ride quality unless you run into one of those Sierra Cement Pothole/Craters. Then it keeps things from bottoming out.
Can’t say with certainty until I see in person and can get under it. They have a pretty heavy duty front bumper on it and a lift. I assume the bags up front may help level it out?

with your setup, do you have brackets bolted to the frame like that?
