Dash Pad Repair
Mine was a dark red, it had cracked 6 or 7 places. First I covered with the black carpet overlay, then I got the molded over cover that they sent glue with, it fit over stock so well I did not use the glue. It covered just the padded OEM cover, it's black, and SEM has product that can change the color, I know a "Classic Coat" they sell that will flex and survive on a leather & vinyl MC seat in weather, jeans, occasional boot heal contact will survive on a vinyl dash.
I use those black carpet like overlays on all my vehicles as they totally eliminate reflections in my windshields. I usually don't even use the Velcro that comes with them, except maybe on the very ends.

The cost was about $100. Purchased glue at Amazon. The vinyl at Jo-Ann fabrics; I have enough left to do the headliner which is coming up soon.
For my 66 Fairlane GT, I carved out the damage and used Polyvance "Padded Dash Pad filler" to fill in the holes. It's much more pliable than regular bondo which dried too rigid and cracked again, Layed down a coat of primer, applied adhesion promoter from SEM. Then sprayed it with SEM "Texture Coating" which very closely simulates the grain in the dash.Purchased new speaker grille from Amazon and finally Kylon black satin vinyl paint for final application.

Pics of my progress. Dash pad repaired and painted along with new woodgrain trim around the instrument cluster. Also repainted the glove box door. Next up is to replace the janky looking steering wheel and the wood grain horn pad. Originally it had CC but I'm not going to bother with that.
