2023 F350 technology issues
Hello everyone,
I purchased a 2023 F350 lariat in June of 2023. Since day one I have had consistent issues with technology of the truck. Below is a list and what my dealership has tried to resolve it and if it was resolved. It is way to late to lemon it out and Ford customer help has not been helpful. These issues have not thrown and hard codes so the dealership has zero idea what to do.
1. Bluetooth issues - It would mute the call so I could not hear the call and then I would have to disconnect and reconnect the BT to continue the call if ANYTHING came on the center screen. So change sound, fan speed, have a camera pop up, call beep in, or anything would screw up the BT call. If I am on a call before getting in the truck or if the above situation happened I can finish the call but the next call would be force to private but would not allow my to be connected to my truck unless I shut it off and restarted it. They ran updates every other week for a year and replaced 1 APIM. This issue is about 98% gone. Now its down to only if I am on the phone before getting in the truck. Now if I am on the phone before getting in the truck and finish the call it will freeze the entertainment screen and act like I am still on the call until it force reboots or I shut the truck off. It is about a 50/50 on which one I have to do..
2. Engine exhaust brake message will freeze on my instrument cluster. If I have the exhaust brake on and shut the truck off then restart it within 30 minutes where the exhaust brake will remember its last setting then about half the time the message will be froze on my cluster. If I hit ok or any buttons it will not disappear. You can actually see the blue bar and menu changing in the background. I either need to cycle the exhaust brake button or open a door to clear it. I found basically anything that pops a new message on the cluster will clear the frozen message. This is still an ongoing issue that they have not dug into.
3. GPS has several issue - They finally replaced the TCU which fixed the GPS issues.
4. My instant fuel mileage calculation read 0.0. The average under the sliding blue bar will read 0.0 until I reset it. If I hold OK and reset it then it will calculate properly for 2,000 miles then just drop to 0.0. If I continue to drive with it at 0.0 it doesn't update or reset unless I hold OK. I drove 8k miles with it reading 0.0 and it never come out of the issue.. Held OK, reset, calculated correctly for 2k miles and went back to 0.0.. The Trip 1 and 2 calculate correctly and the DTE still calculated and updates correctly. This is still an ongoing issue that the dealership wont dig into because no codes.
5. Power Running boards not staying out the appropriate amount of time according the the owners manual. After several updates and a motor change they stay out the same as another 2023 f350 but not the amount of time the owners manual says. Starting it was 5 seconds on short and 4 mins and 42 seconds on long when the manual says it should be 25 seconds and 5 minutes.. After motor and updates it is a 7 seconds and 5 minutes even. Still annoying that its not 25 seconds just because I'm slow and cannot get from passenger to driver in 7 seconds.. It takes 8 seconds, which means the boards are about halfway up and need to come back down.. But I have accepted it as stupid programming since the other truck was the same.
I would like to know if anyone has had any of these issues and how there were resolved out what ever came of it. Thank you in advance!

In regards to issue #5, the time delay of the power running boards before they retract, why not just change the setting to 5 mins? I recognize that you have timed how long they stay down and therefore it's important to you, however, since both settings will retract the steps once the truck starts moving forward, I'm not sure I understand why they length of time matters.... In other words, why not just set it and forget it to the 5 min setting? Unless you're about to drive over boulders in the first several feet of driving, I'm not sure I understand....
I personally did not appreciate how fast they retract up either, but once I changed the setting, I've never looked back. Even when I exit the truck, it really doesn't matter to me if the steps retract after 25 seconds or 5 minutes. In fact, I believe once I lock the doors, as long as I'm not standing on the steps, they retract immediately.

It is set to 5 minutes because it was annoying the boards had to do two motions, just had it set to shorter timer earlier on because I liked it but changed it back to 5 minutes later. But because they didn't have any hard codes but still had it acting up on all the tech stuff I had to include that as a symptom of something not working correctly.
