I have read about the 2023 f250 going into a power saving mode after a few days, but has anyone else noticed that both of your trip odometers do a partial reset as well as fuel milage is highly inaccurate until you do a manual reset. This really bothers me and my ford dealer said they have never seen this. My truck often sits for a week at a time due to motorcycle being my daily driver.
I have contacted my dealer twice , they claim they have not heard about the trip odometer problem. I have had 2 2023 F250’s, both are doing it

haven't noticed but I only have a couple hundred miles on mine...my truck sits for usually 2 weeks at a time and one other thing you will notice is that the welcome lighting feature disables after a couple days of non use until you start it...
This has happened to me multiple times on my 2023. Dealer cannot find any codes. Mileage on both trip meters resets to .1 mpg and start counting up from there. If not reset might make it to 3.0 mpg in a few thousand miles. The running mpg on the instant mpg screen does not change and stays consistent. Truck is a daily driver, a couple of days is the most it has ever sat. If anyone finds a solution, I’m interested. Truck is a CCLB 7.3 with 19000 mi. Have had this happen both when truck is started and also while driving 5 times total.
This is happening to me as well. Three times so far, it reverts back to 0.1 mpg and builds slowly from there. You can’t keep tract of accumulated miles on either trip one or two
this is a 2023 f-450 xlt with just the small center screen. So far I see only recall mentioning the larger screen. Truck only has 1600 miles
Happened to me too. 2023 STX 6.7 PSD. I reset trip 1 with each fillup and use trip 2 between oil changes. I’ll do another reset in a few weeks and track it from there.
This just started happening to mine too. Just bought a 23 350 with the 7.3 and small screen. It's only got about 8000 miles on it and it started happening about 500 miles ago. I usually reset the whole thing on each fill up, but partially through a tank it resets itself. The mpg and miles traveled resets back to zero but the time traveled stays the same. Sounds like a computer glitch. Glad it's not just me but maybe if enough people have it, they'll come up with a fix.

I've noticed mine does it if i open the door and just sit in the truck without even putting the key in the ignition. I then get out and take care of a few things and get back in to 0's across the board.
My 2023 would do the same thing. I noticed when some one was sitting in the truck and it wasn’t running it would reset. The person didn’t have to be in the drivers seat. There just had to be movement in the cab and the truck not running. There is a little sensor above the rear view mirror that looks like a camera. I put a piece of black tap over the sensor and I have not had my trip meters reset since then. Maybe this will work for you.

This has been happening in F150s and there is supposedly a fix for it. I haven't brought my F150 in for this yet, but for most of the winter the IPC in my truck was resetting twice a day. This fix probably won't work for a SD, but should at least show the dealer that it is a known issue in other ford vehicles.
SSM 51972 2021-2023 F-150 - Trip Odometer And Miles Per Gallon (MPG) Information Resetting After A Key Cycle - Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) With 4.2 Inch Screen Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with an IPC with a 4.2 inch display and built with minor feature code HKRAB may experience a resetting of the trip odometer and MPG information after a key cycle. To confirm a vehicle is built with minor feature code HKRAB, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This condition may be due to the software level of the IPC. To correct this condition, reprogram the IPC to the latest software level using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). Perform a brief road test after the software update to confirm the concern is no longer present. If the concern is still present, replace the IPC. For claiming, use causal part 10849 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards Manual.
I just had it happen again yesterday, luckily it doesn’t reset the miles to empty or I would have been making a quick trip for gas. Was up to 650 miles on this tank and have a 70 mi trip to work, gas is 20-30 cents cheaper by work than at home. Will have the dealer check to see if the f150 fix can be applied for the heavy duties at my next oil change. Thanks for the update SColin.
