I have some of that wrap and more on the way actually! I wrapped my new up pipes before installing the other month, but I only went half way so I'm going to finish wrapping the rest of the up pipes and will wrap the downpipe as well and I also ordered some ceramic fibre insulation and I'm going to go overboard and wrap that over top of the titanium heat wrap and secure with SS zip tie straps THEN completely cover that in that super thick aluminum foil.

There should be a good chunk of the ceramic fibre insulation left over so I'm going to pick up a thin piece of aluminum sheet and DIY an insulted turbo cover while I'm at it and more than likely wrap all coolant lines in fibreglass/mylar velcro insulation stuff as well. I'll be pulling the downpipe to get better access for wrapping it and turbo is coming out for an inspection/cleaning and will pull FICM and degas bottle as well to get at the up pipes and should have good access to EGR delete pipe as well.

I have another 10-12 days before I go back to work so I want to do as much to the truck as possible before then and I want to do everything REALLY good cause I'm sick and tired of having to do things 2-3 times lol so a bit overkill is just fine by me

One thing I did find is the differing of opinions in wrapping the main exhaust downpipe. I am not planning this but its out there.

This is everything I ordered just fyi and yeah I'm going a bit overboard, but F it lol

Just be careful you don’t make things too thick. Any rubbing anywhere will lead to your wrappings coming off and becoming a mess. I have the 4” MBRP exhaust which is a 3-1/2” pipe at the turbo. Just having the titanium wrap on there made it a little tricky getting everything adjusted for no rub.

Also I hate to break it to you, but you most likely purchased fake titanium wrap that is fiberglass. You don't wet the Titanium wrap this specifically states to do so.

Read some of the negative comments. Nothing wrong with fiberglass as its been used forever but its messy, sheds and you need to wet it prior to install. This company sells legit Titanium wrap 1800* tested https://www.designengineering.com/ti...t-wrap-2-x-50/

For 50' you should be paying around 75.00 for real stuff.

Good to know brother. I used that same stuff on the lower half of my up pipes and put it on dry and it's holding up good so far so I don't forsee any issues continuing on with it, but will try putting it on wet this time.

Thanks 🙂

Yeah I've thought about that. My downpipe is 4" and pretty sure the end that connects to the turbo is 4" as well, but could very well taper to 3.5".......Will have to measure it when I pull it out.

The ceramic fiber insulation is 1" thick and I'm going to slice it in half to get more out of it and I'll avoid rubbing 👍

The 6AN stuff I ordered had the most positive reviews of everything I looked at so I hope to not have any issues and I've watched a few videos now on how to put the lines together properly so I feel fairly confidant about that and I'm going to insulate the crap out of the lines so they shouldn't end up getting much heat especially once I shield the down/up pipes.
Care to post links to said videos?

"Braided fuel line fitting install" is what I typed into youtube and I watched the first 10 or so videos and it's all pretty much the same info with the main point being to make a clean cut and use tape to keep the end from fraying.

I'm having second thoughts now on relocating my regulator as with my crappy a$$ luck I'll introduce a piece of debris into the fuel system and take out an injector or two lol so I'm going to insulate everything VERY well and then check the temp of the regulator after some spirited highway driving and go from there.

Well not sure it will make an improvement or not, but I got both fuel lines from regular to rear of engine block double insulated and regulator shielded so I'm off to do some highway driving with ac on regular setting and will see if she runs normal or flops on me again!

Sometime in the next 2 weeks I'm going to gut the top of the engine so I can properly wrap/insulate the up pipes and the exhaust downpipe will be pulled from truck so I can wrap it as well and while turbo is out I'm going to crack it open and do a good cleaning/inspection. Hopefully I didn't get any fiberglass particles in the fuel lines lol.

Cheers fellas 👌

Ok well my AD2 pump is still making weird noises and I believe the return fitting to pump is sucking a bit of air causing the noise and most likely causing the pump to not be cooled properly thus causing it to over heat and fluctuate fuel pressure so I'm ordering all new fitting and fuel hose.

What's really weird on my setup is the return line bends around and runs the line behind the pump then goes back around to hook up at the T connector, but on every other setup I see online the return line just goes straight to the T connector so really puzzled why it was put together like this and also my setup uses crimped metal to connect to the fuel line and I'm going to delete all that and go all nylon quick connects.

Good times lol 🤪

Ok well I just ordered all new base fittings/quick connect fitting from AirDog and for some reason they don't carry the return fitting and told me I have to source it myself which is absolutely ridiculous IMHO and go figure the main fitting I'm looking to replace they don't FKN have

Might have to source the part or start with an updated new pump.

The motor is only a year old and I'd buy a Fass or go back to a stock pump before I'd order from AD! The parts guy on the phone gave me the fitting size, but it's not the same size the website says so who the F knows.

I'm sick and tired of everything having to be fkn struggle, like good lord what a PITA!

I was curious about something and just remembered while looking at the ADII site.

Have you ever ran your hand across the wiring harness while your truck is running? I ask because I installed mine (5 yrs ago) with the included harness and damn was I surprised how inadequate the gauge was for the length of run. The PO$ supplied harness got WAY HOT and the pump was making weird noises. I contacted Pure flow and they were zero help because they know they cheaped out on the harness 100%

I removed the entire harness and made my own with 10 AWG marine wiring. https://www.boatwireusa.com/products...er-white-25-ft

I reused the necessary connection and relays, bifurcated the ground so it went to the frame at the pump and the battery.....wiring no longer hot, no more noise from the pump.

Something you might want to look at for possibilities.

Good Luck

Is it the ADII 5G? Yours looks nothing like mine and I installed it 5 years ago
