Beware of using Ford Roadside Assistance. They will lie to you and screw you over. My vehicle broke down in the Florida Keys while me and my family were on vacation and after calling Roadside Assistance and explaining that we had the entire family down and needed the vehicle to return home in 5 days so we needed to get it to a dealer as soon as possible they said they would have it towed. After several hours of them saying someone was on the way and then canceling the tow and saying now it would be the next day, they could tell I was getting frustrated and said we can get our own tow company and get reimbursed. So I said great because I just called a company less than a mile away and they said Ford had called them and then canceled on them while they were in route to pick my vehicle up. When I asked the Tow Company why they cancelled they said that Ford Roadside gave no reason.



So I arranged for the vehicle to be towed to the closest dealer willing to take it which was on the mainland 80 miles away (roughly). So the vehicle ended up in South Florida for two weeks to get repaired and we had to have a friend come down to get us all home. After we got home we sent a copy of the $800 tow bill to Ford Roadside to get reimbursed as we were instructed. Today, a few weeks later we get a check in the mail for $145….. We call and they say that is the max they will reimburse despite having the bill from the Tow Company. I never expected to get the entire amount back knowing how Ford likes to screw people over but we should have been told that if we initiated the tow (because they clearly couldn’t figure it out) that they would only reimburse a set amount.



Sorry for the ling story but just wanted others to know so they don’t get screwed like we did.
