When I first received the truck the proximity lighting worked and would light up when I approached the truck, but would not unlock when grabbing the handle. The dealership replaced a module, which ‘fixed’ this issue. However, several times since that repair when I approach the truck the lights will come on and I can see/hear it unlock as I am approaching. The dealer could not replicate so could not fix. Has anyone else had this happen? I don’t like that the truck will periodically unlock if I just walk past it in my driveway.
The truck is recognizing the proximity to the key fob in your pocket. If you don't want it to happen, leave the key fob someplace else when you're home and walking around the truck. I have this happen when I'm trying to wash the truck in my driveway, so I leave the key fob in the garage to avoid this issue.
My 2023 just did the unlocking by itself trick this weekend. My hands were full and I was walking up to put some stuff in the back seat area. Low and behold my truck unlocked itself without touching it. It has done this a hand full of times since I bought it July of 2023.
Mine unlocks when I approach with out grabbing the handle often. It also gives trouble unlocking when grabbing the handle often. I'd say it does one or the other at least two to three times a week. It's something I'll have the dealer look into the next time I'm in for service.
try cleaning the part of the handle with the sensor using a damp microfiber towel, often times debris or moisture there cause some vehicles to think your hand is hovering the sensor and unclocks when the signal from the fob is close enough to the vehicle.

I don't have specific knowledge regarding the Super Duty, as mine is not equipped with that option. But perhaps there's inconsistency in the way you grab the handle/attempt to activate the unlock, e.g. try a swipe over the handle sensor rather than a press? I had a prior vehicle that was quite particular about that, but once I figured out what it wanted from me it worked every time.

Not normal for it to unlock without touching the handle. I've owned a 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2 2023 Super duty trucks and none have ever unlocked just walking up to it The lights will come on as I walk up. "Welcome Lighting mode" Also my power running boards will deploy if I approach with a FOB.
Welcome Lightning from Manual https://www.ford.com/support/vehicle...owner-manuals/ The system turns on the exterior lamps when you approach your vehicle with an authenticated device, unlock your vehicle or interact with any of the doors. If you open or close any door, the lamps stay on for a short period of time to provide courtesy lighting
