Is this a good rear differential pattern

Just put in a new 5 cut gear set and all new bearings got 6 thou back lash. The pic's don't show it the best but pattern is about 1/8in from the root of the gear. Thanks guys

Yes that pattern will work. To make it perfect you just need a little more depth into the tooth but it looks good on left & right with a nice half moon shape. I would call it good to go just as it is. I would of love to heard that rear end when the pinion let go.

You know as well as i do you didnt really want to hear it by the time i got home you couldn't talk over it in the truck it had a vary vary slight noise only when slowing down at the start.seeing i had save 4yrs to buy a 22k truck. some moron rebuilt it the 3 day before I bought he had Receipts for the bearing from autozone I guessed it would need a little better adjustment boy was i wrong. the ride home was 1300mile and it started to wine a little over half way home then 200 mile from home it was grinding I did make it home but barely I later found they installed bearings for a newer rear I was able to move the pinion 3/8 inch in and out and when I took the rear apart they had took a grinder to the pinion because the pinion set back to far with the wrong bearing ridiculous what people will do to sell stuff I ended up rebuild the hole rear all wheel bearing, seals, e brake shoes, dust shields, new yukon gear set and all bearing and a crush sleeve eliminator and new clutches of course. I just wanted a 2nd opinion before I button it up. Thanks for the quick.

Good job on getting the truck home under its own power. Good call on rebuilding the WHOLE rear end. Now you know its done right. Crush sleeve eliminator was a good call. I really dislike people/shops that do work that they know is bad/wrong and send it on its way. Hopefully the rest of the truck is way less eventful. .
