Hi all, let me give you a quick background. I have very little background in mechanics and have learned so much from reading posts in this forum. I'm still looking for a reliable inexpensive rear diff to put under my 1948 F1. See pic below:
The owner of the frame below says it's from a 1968 Merc. I will assume that the 5 bolt pattern means it's from a half ton. I also believe that it's the popular 9' . Can you please explain what all these letters represent on the diff? Thank you inadvance.
Is there any other notable markings on these pics that I should be educated on before I make an offer. (ie 28 spline, possible hwy speed, etc.) Thank you, Rex
