It flies in my yard all day, every day. Lit up at night with a dusk to dawn LED atop the pole (not installed at the time of this photo).
Like Bananasfoster I have a beautiful Stars & Stripes short sleeve button up shirt that I wear often and get complimented on.
Not to be a downer, but you should never fly 2 country flags on the same pole. It is insulting to the flag/country on the bottom.
I like it! Have you ever noticed when you see someone flying a flag, you pretty much know who they're voting for?
Perhaps overall a guess can get you 80% there, but I know a few people in the Eastern Ohio/Western PA area and one in New England with flags that go the other way. The nature of politics is such that a lot of people on opposite sides of the line all thinks they represent the real America.
+1 Agree completely. I am a Disabled Vietnam veteran I am proud of my country but flying a flag on a truck like that in my opinion is not appropriate. It's just a polarizing political statement. .
It's weird that you are proud of your country but you disapprove of someone else who is too. Who's being polarizing here?

based on the statements he has made here it seems he should have moved to coastal California instead of living in Florida, very few people fly flags on their vehicles in the big CA metro areas and those who want to are reluctant to do so out of fear of vandalism, doxxing and harassment.
If you hate on someone for flying the American flag YOU are the problem not the person waving the flag. Should we go back and tell the guys at Iwo Gima they need to take it down because it is polarizing?

I never said I disapprove of someone who is proud of our country I stated that I didn't feel that it was appropriate use of the flag to drive around with a huge flag on the bed of the truck.
I am very proud of our country. I served proudly and my wife spent 38 years taking care of combat wounded vets that returned from Vietnam, then worked at a military hospital and then worked at a VA hospital until she retired.
I just think that it isn't appropriate to fly a huge American Flag in the bed of a truck every day in today's political environment. Usually when I see this in rural Florida the American Flag isn't the only flag flying in the truck bed. More often then not there is either a Confederate Flag or some flag with a vulgar political statement on it. All that does is stoke the fire of divisiveness.
I am the guy you see with a DAV hat on most times I am out. I also have flagpole in my front yard proudly flying the American Flag.
Mine does too! It is about 10" wide, and is positioned dead center in the tailgate, where "Ford" or "Super Duty" or "King Ranch" would be, if it were an OEM tailgate.

I'm in the big CA metro area, and haven't experienced any problems (nor privileges) because of the flag decal.
The flag on my truck has nothing at all to do with politics, and everything to do with appreciation.
The symbol has become quite polarizing in the last 10 or so years. So much so it has lost meaning in most cases when and where it is flown.
Where it truly has lost meaning is in the half mast position. It is now being used like that for just about anything when in reality it is just to be used in the event of the loss of a President, or a state official and Memorial Day. The other use is for national tragedy such as Dec 7Th and 9/11. Any other use of it and it does lose it's meaning and purpose of Half Mast.
I am of the stance, you want to burn our flag? Wrap yourself in it first. Want to stomp on our flag, let me take you on a trip to the Wall and make you read all those names! If the Wall doesn't make you cry, you are not American, you don't belong here.
Too bad it is hard to post from my phone at the moment or I would post a couple pictures I took the past couple weeks around my house. There is an Eagles nest nearby and I have a few pictures of them flying and in the field. They are such a Majestic bird and I swell with pride for my country when I see one flying. God Bless America.

Flagpoles in yards are okay then, but what are your thoughts on flag stickers on trucks? Flag tattoos? Flag bikinis on girls? Burning the flag in protest?
Those are rhetorical questions, and I think I understand your opinion, but please don't forget the concept of individual freedom (and its defense) that the flag symbolizes to many is ultimately what you're disapproving...and (somewhat ironically), it's also what allows you to do just that.
There was a well known song written about that flag, and at that time, the divisiveness was more than simply political.

I think decals fly under the radar a bit since a lot of businesses allows drivers to put one on their work vehicles. Stand along American flag though, brings out the crazy and unhinged detractors.
I flew one once and while my driving usually was very boring and drama free before, immediately I was given the finger by more than a few cars passing by and got brake checked by a Nissan on a 40 mile drive. the same day I decided to take it down and what do you know, no more issues. I don't want it be up when the vehicle is parked and have vandals do things to the flag.

You would be wrong there. Not everyone that flies the flag has the same political views you do. I have worked with a lot of "liberal" folks that love this country and put their lives on the line for it! Flying the flag says I love the USA! That is a statement that anyone, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Independent, etc. can make and proudly fly the flag.
You do you I guess, but I don’t believe this is a respectable way to fly the stars/stripes, nor is it within the code of conduct for the US flag. Maybe in a parade or a show, but not as standard MO.
