I remember watching his show, came on right after The Mary Tyler Moore show.
I was watching some old westerns yesterday, made in the 50s, and Mary Tyler Moore was a saloon girl in one of them. She'd have been 20-23 when it was made.
In each of his two network TV sit-coms he had at least one wacky characters' that always made me LOL: Howard Borden in one, Larry, Daryl and Daryl in the other.
He'll be missed for his understated comedy and delivery too!

The way he ended his second show will go on in history as one of the most unexpected endings ever. Woke up in bed with his wife from the first show claiming he had the weirdest dream ever. I was FLOORED!!!!!
Much cocaine went through his body. Great comedian
I've never heard of any such abuses, not saying it doesn't have some truth but if so it was kept well hidden from the general public. 'Twas a different time back then...........

It was quite the surprise and almost made sense, seemingly tying up some imagined loose ends? Regardless it was a lot of fun especially if someone was already familiar with both shows.
