Picked up a 2000 f350 at auction...485k miles. Started pretty easily on a cool morning after sitting for 2 weeks. Drove it 150 miles home. Had no power for hills, luckily they were big mild grades, dropped down to 35mph at the top of a few, besides being a traffic nuisance it did made it ok otherewise. Temp stayed relatively steady. No unusual smoke. I know zilch about it...top places to look into to adrss the power issue? Thanks.
If it's not smoking, I'd look at fuel filter and fuel pressure, filter is easiest and pressure is next. With the filter cap off, you can check fuel flow into the bowl, which will tell you something about your feed line and pump. Then you can figure out where to head from there. There is a port on the back of the fuel bowl where you can attach a fuel pressure gauge. I do not remember what size that hole is though.
