Hi guys, filled up my tank today and the guage was working fine , latter in the day when I started the Ex the fuel guage read empty and the gas pump light was illuminated. 03 Limited, V10 6.8 4x4, 78k All other gauges work properly, any ideas, fuse? Thanks for any assistance.
Have you tried turning it off and back on? Seriously though, this has happened to me a few times and when I restart the truck it works again. My batteries were pretty weak and I replaced them shortly after and I never had the issue again.
Thanks for the reply Twitch, good to have you back, I did try to shut it off and start it again with no change a couple or times I will try it again tomorrow, and I might disconnect the battery and try that. I recently did a front end rebuild and the battery did drain down from the doors and rear gate being open while working and needed a jump.

same/similar issue - but even more strange. When I FILL UP, the gauge buries at zero. Once I have run about 100 miles the gauge shoots to full and stays there - after I have run another 100 miles or more it slowly starts to move down, but I know its not correct because it has now run over 200 miles.
i ran it until it showed 1/2 full - stopped to fill up, and it buried at Empty again….lololol.
Still messing with the fuel gauge which is working intermittently now, today I noticed that the lie-o-meter/ compass is out Anybody know what fuse # covers it? Couldn’t find it in the manual. Thanks.
I'd say it's probably time for a sending unit in the tank?
Viable option for the dead, or dim trip computer.
Mine was dim, I re-flowed all the solder points on the through hole, and surface mount components. Good as new...
