Transmission Problem Help
I have a 99 F250 Super Duty 7.3, I put in a transmission from a 2002 F250 Super Duty. I have 1st and 2nd gear but no 3rd or overdrive. Do I need to get a solenoid pack for a 99 to put into the 02 transmission?

You have either a bad TRS (Transmission Range Sensor, located where the shift cable attaches to the trans) or damaged wires to the TRS. Fix this, and the problems you're having will probably disappear.

Boy I feel dumb I've been trying to figure out were the TPS was at.I thought that was the nuetral saftey switch..I did buy aì repair pig tail for the Tps because every wire to it was bare at the plug . I really appreciate your help this has defiantly been a learning experience.

I'm going to go buy a new Tps and a new shifting cable . I will let you know if it fixes my problem

No, that's not the problem.
Can your scanner read data? Can you tell if the PCM is commanding 3rd gear or not? That will help determine if the problem is inside or outside of the transmission.

DIGITAL transmission range switch 1 closed, switch 2 and 3 are closed. DIGITAL TRANSMISSION range switch 3(v) 0.010v. Switch 4 n/a. Shift solenoid #1 and 2 Electrical fault no error. Shift solenoid1 on, Shift solenoid 2 off,Speed control command switch(v) 6.579v.
