Assuming Ford gets around to fixing the AC compressor problems someday in the future, I want to order a F350 Platinum 7.3 crew cab short bed, and install some warn MANUAL LOCKING HUBS on it. Does this interfere with the auto 4wd factory setup at all?
I also plan on a Whipple supercharger, and toying with the idea of a cam, Johnson lifters, headers, and new exhaust system possibly. Maybe some ported heads also. (Palm Beach dyno in Florida). I would love to have a diesel but to get it where I want it, would have to delete it and that kills the re-sale value right up front.
After all that possibly the full Carli suspension treatment. Some good ceramic window tint, maybe a Ravelco anti-theft install, and some Toyo ATIIIs. Pretty much should do it. All predicated upon Ford getting the AC problems sorted out once and for all of course. That would be an awesome truck.
The Superduty doesn’t have “auto 4WD”, if you are thinking it’s anything like the F150 or other 1/2 tons.
Like the name implies, the Warn hubs are manual. If you want 4WD, you have to get out and turn the dial on each hub to lock them in. Then you use the buttons on the dash to engage 4WD through the transfer case.
With the performance upgrades you are planning, I assume you want to use 4WD for launching off the line?
No not racing. Boost limited to 8 psi, the heads, cam, and headers just dreaming about a truck that can get up and go but still tow. The blower and suspension mods for sure though. Just a reliable good running truck. With a great AC hopefully. LOL
I had a 2006 cummins with a dodge wrapped around it, I spent way too much fixing it up then the AC broke and no shop would work on it unless I took the twin Garretts out for access. I barely got em in by myself, darn sure didn't want to go thru that again plus I was working out of state, so traded. Anyway, I want a Superduty F350 and it would be a diesel if not for emissions. A 7.3 with a supercharger would be just **** I think.
