What is this connector

I’m trying to figure out a lot of the wiring in the dash but I don’t know what this connector is. Does anyone have any ideas?

What color wires are on it. Look carefully and try to pick up the color of the stripes on the wire also.

I have not heard of our trucks having a plug / wires for trailer brakes.

The only things I think that have plugs in that area is the clock and the radio.
The 2 plugs with wires plugged together are radio. Left is power & dash light. Right is a add on harness for door speakers.

Close up of the 2 plug in the back ground above.
The 1 that is plugged together I think is the add on AC harness. The other with nothing I believe is for the clock.

That might be connector C125, for the optional lights in the glovebox, digital radio, and under the dash. You can see it towards the left of the large illustration here:

I think C125 is part of the main harness, regardless of whether those optional lights (and associated harness) were installed. If not so equipped, the plug sits there empty. See page 84 here for the related 1985 wiring diagram, which should be close for your truck:

If C125 is the plug for under dash lights then maybe there is a harness that runs across the bottom of the dash that the 2 lights plug into?
I think once the main harness plug for the under dash lights is found then the rest will fall into place if there is a harness or not.

I do believe some have used LED's for under dash lights.

BTW who uses paper maps that you need map lights

I have used mine to read paper maps. Sometimes you are out of cell tower range. Also comes in handy for a passenger to be able to read a book on a long night drive. I know...who reads books anymore...the light is well directed and doesn't interfere with the driver's vision.
