My 22 xlt has a blank spot that appears could be used for a usb connection.

are the higher trims utilizing this blank space for anything?

 

I was looking at the 12v port first...I see it in the the other corner now. My Lariat w/Ultimate pkg doesn't have anything there.

Probably easier to just use a USB adapter in that existing 12v port.

 

There's two cutaways at the front of the console for power cords, so I am assuming Ford equips both areas on some trim levels.

My XLT has a standard 12v round cigarette lighter type power port on the right hand side, and I just put a USB power adapter in it.

My left hand side is blank, like in your pic.

 

Like this ^^^^^^ My 22 XLT Premium has the 12 volt port we used to call cigarette lighters. On day one I put a dual USB charger in there. I'm really liking the little LED light in there and those OCD organizers are awesome.
