Fix for console trim

Just bought a new 250 Lariat and the console trim is very loose and noisy. It isn’t nearly as tight as my 2017 was. Anyone have a similar issue, and/or know a fix?

My 24 is SOOO much quieter than my 2017. Where are you hearing the noise?

I think there was a recall on the newer trucks because the dash was hiding some of the display at the bottom, maybe it was "fixed" before you bought it and they did a poor job? Maybe someone will chime in that has the facts.

It’s from the two trim pieces on either side of the top of the console. They don’t rattle, so much as they creak when touched. They aren’t solidly in place. My ‘17 was tight and made no noise. It’s like they need a shim of some kind, or just better fitting plastic. Not awful, but just aggravating for the price tag.

Some have ordered the leather wrapped trim pieces from the higher trim levels to replace those two pieces. Seems to work and not too costly.

if I’m coming up with the right part when I search they’re only around $30?

not bad if you have a squeak it would solve it and give a nice look.

Took this from another forum, but it shows you the trim piece. Some have dyed the thread depending on how it meshed with their interior

Click on the user name in the upper left corner of the text box and select "Send a private message to Ford Motor Company" and that will open a Direct message (DM) window. You may need to make a few more posts to send a DM to someone though as it looks like you only have 4 posts at the time I posted this. You can check Tasca Parts or any other number of online parts suppliers for the part number and prices.
