I have 2017 f250 6.7 and I have 38000 on it ive been reading that the cold side intercooler have been going out I'm going on a 3500 towing trip soon should I replace this before the trip with a metal one instead of the rubber one I can't look at it now because it's at ford for a extended warranty problem or should i just let ford look at it I guess I don't want this to blow on our trip thanks all

It's a pretty common failure point on the 2017-2019's, I'd probably replace it if it was my truck. Lot's of good aftermarket options.
If you're worried about the cold side hose blowing out, then just buy a spare hose and keep it in the truck in case it ruptures while on the road. They're not that terribly expensive, nor hard to replace (just two hose clamps).
If you're talking about the intercooler itself, and at your mileage, it should be fine (unless you're having issues with it, then in that case have the dealer replace it under warranty before your trip).
x2 just throw one in the truck for insurance. snag an oem one or SPE sells an OEM style one for cheap too. they also have their fancy one for not cheap
youre at low mileage though, i wouldnt expect any issues. mine went out around 80k

Carry a spare or just replace it with a metal one. There's several good providers out there that make em. S&B and Sinister Diesel were the two that I looked at then I bought one. Unless you see visible damage to the hose, I don't think you need to rush to do it. But they're definitely known to blow at higher mileages.
if the intercooler cold side goes out…you can remove it, clean it, wrap it in duct tape, put it back on until you get a new one.
This. I "patched" mine with duct tape until my new one showed up. I didn't even know mine had a hole in it until I noticed it one day changing the oil.....
