My truck has been at the dealer over a week with the Ecoboost intercooler issue. Fifth time in the shop for going into "limp mode" with the Check Engine light on.

Has anyone had a successful fix of this issue?

 

I know there is an aftermarket intercooler out there that is supposed to be great. I dont think Ford has a fix for it yet. A guy on here a few threads down lemon lawed his ford because they couldnt fix it, even got fords new intercooler installed and still didnt fix it.

If this is your 5th time I would seriously look into starting the process of buying it back.

 

Ford has a newly designed intercooler that is in the 2013 trucks. I've seen several reports that this has fixed the issue for the lucky few that got the updated intercooler. If you're lucky maybe your dealership can find you one but unfortunately they are on backorder until Febuary.

 

My brother just had his changed under warranty for these same issues. Your dealer should be able to find the TSB on it.

 

I was also just at the dealer for this issue and was informed that the intercooler is on backorder until March.

 

Considering mine's been sitting in the dealer's service department for over a week now - that's not a great timeline.

 

So I would assume if you ORDERED a 2013 truck it would come with the new intercooler??

 

I believe so. All of the intercoolers are going to the line. I've heard that the dealers aren't getting access to them.

 

If you order a new 2013 now yes, it will get he newest design cooler.

If you have a 2013 that was built prior to 12/3/12 it will have the old cooler.

Approx 18.00 increase in price of Updated Cooler Trucks Built after 12/4/12
