I just acquired a 1990 F250 4X4 diesel. It currently has aftermarket 16.5" wheels and 33X12.50 BFG all terrain tires on it. I don't particularly like the look or the ride of this set up. The tires are way to wide for my taste, And will hit the suspension when at full lock. My question is will any of the later model F250 wheels fit my bolt pattern which I think is 8 on 6.5"? I would really like to run a skinnier taller tire with a larger wheel diameter of at least 18".
The lug pattern changed to metric in 1996/97 with the big change in body style.
t
pre-97 8-lug Ford are 8 x 6.5 (and so are Chebby and Dodge 8-lug) '97 F250HD/350 is still 8 x 6.5" The '97-98 F250LD was a SEVEN LUG oddball
99-up Ford are 8 x 170
Newer F350HDF450HD is 8 x 200
Score some later Alcoas from the F250/350 trucks. They look nice, weigh far less, and are strong as hell. I would probably run a 265/75R16 on your truck, they are 31.5" tall and are available in E codes.

Yes, up to '97 F250/350. BUT they are hard to find in many parts of the country. No junkyards around here have them, I can tell you that! Strangely, Chevy and Dodge alloy 8-lugs are a bit easier to find.
My local yard is really more of a scrap yard that auto parts junkyard. The first thing that comes off any vehicle is alloy wheels. Tires are dismounted, and wheels are stacked in a Conex shipping container. Last I knew, he gets $20/ alloy wheel for scrap value. No, he does NOT sell any alloy wheels!
This is also why this yard only gets $300 for an engine/trans combo. It is a gamble if it will run since no fluids/battery. Engine/trans are sold as cores only - no guarantees as to function. Since I'll be rebuilding it anyway, I don't care.
Careful on picking later model Dodge and Chevrolet wheels. They both have too much positive offset and the center hole is too small to fit.
Ask me how I know?😖
