How many people have purchased the ATT plan for their truck? Is it worth it? The only place that I have found that ATT has better coverage than Verizon is where I hunt and that may benefit me for making calls on wifi.
I personally do not understand the need at all. Now days, most have good cell service, and hot spot for no additional money. To pay for another line just for the vehicle seems odd to me.

I could see using it for in car dash cams/radar detectors or kids ipads or whatnot, but beyond that I cannot come up with a single use case. It was also unlimited, where hot spot on my top of the line att packages is topped at 50gb or something like that.
Honestly, I use it for my kids iPads. I’ve never bought this in any of my previous vehicles, but for 200/year, I thought it would save a few headaches.
I prefer my kids not connecting to my phone for a few reasons. One, I don’t want them using it outside the truck. If I allow when we’re in the truck, it’ll keep working as we get out. I also don’t need the additional battery drain. I know CarPlay uses WiFi and I don’t really want to interfere there. It also gives me options if my phone isn’t getting much for service. I’m on Verizon, so AT&T is an alternative.
In a pinch, I’ve also used it for my work computer too. It gets a more stable connection than my phone, since the antenna is that much more robust.
I actually work for the company. I have it mainly b/c I get a discount (for my personal phone and all my kids and G-kids) we are all on 1 account since I am an employee. I will not get it for the truck or our Bronco mainly b/c I already have it on our phones and iPad. But, I agree w/Ltngdrvr, not a bad idea to have a different carrier on your phone. There are areas where 1 is better than the other. Where I'm located, it's about the same in coverage and capacity for all 3 carriers (ATT/VZW/TMO). Guess it would be an option for me to drop the wireless plan on our iPad and start a plan for the truck. But at $200/year (not sure if I'd get the employee discount or not), I'll stay where I am for now.
We are AT&T customers already, but don't have unlimited. We use the truck's plan on the road and when camping. Sometimes it's reception is better than our phones.

Depending on which company you mean, it could allow a discount, I believe. You can add this to your AT&T account in a similar fashion to other devices and keep it at one bill. If you mean the company you work for gets a discount from AT&T, but you don't work for AT&T, then it's probably a crapshoot whether or not it would apply. Verizon offers "discounts" depending on where you work, but interestingly, the discounts don't apply to unlimited plans. *shock* I wouldn't doubt if AT&T did something similar.
I had it...briefly. I quickly realized I was paying $20/month to connect my phone's unlimited service to my truck's unlimited service. Kinda pointless, only way I can see it being beneficial is if you have kids who need the service for their devices and you don't have a plan that you can hot-spot.
Had it on my 2022. When my 2024 came in Att would not let me transfer the service or refund the remaining five month. I paid a year in advance. So I will never use att again. It is only a small amount but its enough to lose my business.

BINGO! Once they get your money, they think they got you. I had one of the worst experiences ever with ATT. They way overcharged me for 4 phones and lines. The awful (or good for ATT) customer service dragged things on passed the cancel date. I ended up filing a claim with the FTC. A lady high up in the company contacted me, I got my money back. In fairness, I’m not a fan most cell companies.
