BINGO! Once they get your money, they think they got you. I had one of the worst experiences ever with ATT. They way overcharged me for 4 phones and lines. The awful (or good for ATT) customer service dragged things on passed the cancel date. I ended up filing a claim with the FTC. A lady high up in the company contacted me, I got my money back. In fairness, I’m not a fan most cell companies.
But not always... and there's always another side to any story.
A friend of mine, his wife passed away several months ago.
His phone was on her account and through the bereavement process he never thought about it until his phone quit working.
He went to ATT, and found the account was 3 months in arrears.
He explained the situation and not only did they release him of the past due amount, they canceled the original account, re-opened an account in his name, gave him a new phone and the first 3 months free.
My 24 came with free ATT for 3 months. If I were already an ATT customer, I could extend coverage for $10 a month.
I am not, so it would cost me either $25 monthly or $20 per month if paid 6 months in advance.
When I bought the truck I had totally misunderstood what the product was. I wanted to have a hot spot where I could sit at a campground and use my laptop near the truck with the truck shut off and parked. That's not what the product does. It's for contractors and other business people to conduct their computer business from inside the truck (or very near it) with the truck running. Since I use the truck as a daily driver and trailer puller, and have no business to conduct, I have no use for it.
I experimented with it for the 90 day trail and let the offer expire.
