Battery location

I wanted to mount the battery somewhere other than in the engine compartment and usual places of in the cab, between the running boards and frame didn’t appeal. So ended up finding a spot just in front of the rear triangulated suspension where the battery would fit. Probably have too much time on my hands 😊 but ended up with this setup that can be dropped through 90 degrees to get access. I will be installing additional battery terminals behind the passenger seat for charging and/ or jump start as needed.

Very nice.

Anytime you can move the weight back and low you are doing good.

These old trucks were not designed for a heavy battery under the hood, especially when they are mounted to the inner fenders. That area is not strong enough.

not nit picking but cable clamps you show are backwards... "never saddle a dead horse" the short end of the cable is 'dead'. Just general knowledge for all.

I like your idea though,,,, good use of dead space and easy access... under the cab on the frame rail like I did is a cool idea but a bad decision.
