best code reader for a 1990 f-250?
best code reader for a 1990 f-250?
what is the best code reader for my truck? (see sig) please tell me the name, price, and where to order it (my dad wants to get me one for xmas so we dont have to do the paperclip trick and count all the time) thanks!
The only reader I ever bought was for GM with OBDI. Basically the same type you will find for these. All it did was jump the connections so you could watch the CEL flash. A $30 rip off.
On the newer OBDII readers I've seen they actually have a readout. I'm sure this is the kind you want but afraid they don't make one with the reaout for them??

There is defintely an obdI/EECIV code reader for Ford that has digital readout and also stores the codes for future reference. Should be < $35 at any parts store. Just tell them it's for a 1990 Ford. That reader will handle all Fords up thru 1995.

Mine is an Innova 3145. It works on Fords 81-95 and has digital readout and memory. Pretty simple to use, no counting flashes. I got this one through JC Whitney for around 32 bucks. They make an extension cable for it that I wish I'd gotten, It's tough to watch it and do the koer tests when you're alone.
